Bluegrass music began in the Appalachian streets, country music started on Atlanta porches, and the punk/hardcore scene originated in sweaty, cramped basements in the United Kingdom. Don’t wait for good music to come to concert halls—keep an eye out for handmade fliers on crowded telephone poles and open mic nights at neighborhood stages.

Cultura’s favorite Riverwest weekly neighborhood events:

Mondays Open mic night at Bremen Café

Wednesday Acoustic open stage at Linneman’s

Wednesday Blue grass night at HIGH DIVE MKE

Every other Wednesday Jazz night at Company Brewing
